Ankur Scientific is a Biomass Gasification System Manufacturer developing engineered systems for industrial process heat, power generation, biochar and green fuel applications.
Rather than selecting a gasifier based on capacity alone, Ankur's approach starts with understanding the actual industrial application — the thermal output required, the existing boiler or furnace, the fuel being replaced, and the biomass that is actually available on site.
Ankur's approach starts with understanding the actual industrial application rather than simply selecting a gasifier based on capacity. The required thermal output, existing boiler or furnace, fuel being replaced, available biomass, operating conditions, feedstock characteristics and site requirements can all influence the design of a biomass gasification system.
Biomass gasification can be configured for different industrial energy and resource-recovery requirements. Ankur's project experience covers applications beyond a single end use.
Producer gas for boilers, furnaces, dryers and kilns. For industries using furnace oil, LPG, LNG or diesel, biomass gasification can provide an alternative fuel pathway depending on the application and biomass availability.
Gasification systems can be integrated with suitable engines to convert biomass energy into electricity, supporting decentralized and industrial power-generation applications.
Controlled thermochemical conversion of biomass can produce biochar along with combustible gas — supported by large-scale gasification systems designed for biochar and carbon-sequestration applications.
Producer gas can serve as an intermediate energy or feedstock stream for selected green-fuel and chemical applications, depending on project configuration and downstream process.
Biomass gasification is a thermochemical process in which biomass is converted under controlled conditions with limited oxygen to produce a combustible gas. The process generally involves four key stages.
Moisture present in the biomass is removed as the material moves through the heated gasification environment.
The biomass undergoes thermal decomposition, releasing volatile compounds and leaving a carbon-rich solid residue.
A controlled amount of air supports partial combustion and generates the heat required to sustain the gasification process.
Hot gases and carbon react under reducing conditions to form producer gas containing combustible components.
The resulting gas can then be conditioned and directed towards the intended application, such as process heating, power generation or other downstream systems.
One of the important considerations when selecting a biomass gasification system is the availability and characteristics of the feedstock. Ankur has experience with more than 60 feedstock types, including different agricultural and woody biomass materials.
Different feedstocks can vary significantly in moisture, ash content, particle size, bulk density and energy characteristics — feedstock evaluation is an important part of developing a practical solution. Where required, Ankur can work with multi-feedstock requirements rather than designing the system around only one biomass source.

Ankur's industrial process-heat biomass gasification systems are available across a range of capacities, depending on the application and project requirements.
The final system capacity is determined based on factors such as required thermal output, biomass characteristics, fuel replacement requirement, existing boiler, furnace or dryer, operating hours, feedstock availability, site conditions and required system configuration.
Instead of selecting capacity only from a standard equipment size, Ankur evaluates the application to determine an appropriate system configuration.
